all I want is everything

Apparently this is almost is for this year.  It brought me more than I even wanted 🙂 I remember waking up 1/1/11, my brotherwoke me up and brought a newspaper. He told me to read my horoscope (!). Among loads of crap there was one sentence – 31/12/11 will be nothing like 1/1/11, big changes are awaiting u. I lought loud. Well yeah, there was one thing I wished for – changes. I can tell u one thing – 2011 was a year of changes. So now I just continue doing what I’m quite good at I think, making plans, setting up new goals & working hard to get them. Dear all, lets make the coming year a damn good one!

love, Nina

London part 4

I still own u and uppdate fram the last day in London. Since it was THE last day of this short getaway it ws no sightseing or shopping on the menu. It was simply about … the menu 🙂 Ladurée breakfast at Harrods was a perfect begining of the last day. I couldn’t leave the place without getting myself two boxes of their perfect macaroons. Nom nom. I got all the a bit unusual flavours – chestnut&pears, Raising&cinnamon. Nom nom. From one menu to another. Next stop – SKETCH! How come I did not discovered it before? Wonderful place with wonderful food. Don’t even ask how I managed to east a whole set of english afternoon tea but I did. Well as we say in Sweden – treats goes to another stomach.

I’ve been a good girl today and finished the theory chapter in my assignment and even started another one. Now I’m in desperate need of coffee and craving for something sweet! Fika stop next!

wanna make ur life harder?

Why make life easier when u can do it even harder than it is? Here comes one of many ideas; while writing ur final paper chose a theory which is almost completely unknown for ur research field. U want to make it even harder than this? Than chose one which was never user in any PhD dissertation in ur country of interest. Don’t forget to make sure that ur library owns maximum two books about it. Simply chose developmental psychopathology!

Can’t really sat that I’ve been extremely efficient today but well I still got a bit done. The funny is that in september I worked on a paper for uni and got a book fram libabry. The other day I got the same book and discovered the note I made on the empty last page:

Why do I love Lund? After hunting books for my research project in all possible libararies in town (I love libaries but it is a different story) I decided to grab a coffee & chocolate chip cookie at language&literature faculty café. I just sat down and dipped my first bite of cookie in coffee when suddenly I heard Chopin… a piece of beautiful music of Chopin. My memories took me directly ten years back  to comfortable armchair in my grandfathers room. But no, I was not in Szczecin.

A student just took his chance and sat at grand piano. Music filled the whole place and become a perfect mixture with spanish, mandarin and polish. He played for just few min but it was enough to made my day so much better.

London part 3

The London adventure continued on Sunday and u could easly call it D-day of that trip. THE GAME! I managed to think clear and not buy the tickets for the game (200£/each!) so with a guiness in my one hand and crossing fingers with the other I enjoyed the premiere league game in an englihs pub on one their leather couches. It wasn’t the great game ever played in Premiere League history but it was good enough to make me happy. We won! oh, who played? QPR – Man Utd (0-2).

Brick lane was the next destination of the day. A Syrian reastaurand was good enough for lunch so I could once again enjoy lentil soup & mjaddarah. The biggest surprise of the trip? Coffee with lovely Lucille! Couldn’tbelieve my luck that she was also in London. It was such a joy to see her lovely face again and even though we could grab just a quick coffe it was simply superb to chichat with her again. Some complimentary shopping had to be done before dinner time. This time it was a chinese cusine we were about to enjoy. Food was great even though I had no dim sum.

I have to learn how to cook mjaddarah!

London part 2

Saturday started with a lazy morning, I mean if u’re finally off work&uni u don’t want to rush out of bad at 8! The big plan for Saturday was shopping and first destination – New Bond Str. I could spend ages there if my Visa would be bleeding already after the first stop 😉 China town was a perfect contrast & dim sum for lunch was all I wanted! The China town in London is obviously much smaller than in NY but it’s still cozy and I really hope that it won’t get to posh. I can’t even coun’t hom many dim sum I had for lunch but they were simply delicious. Shopping tour continued at Carnaby str & Liberty. It was not as crowded as I thought it would be which was a really nice surprice. After all that walking my feet where shouting for help but a lemongrass tea and banana cake later i was fit for fight again. José Pizzaros restaurant was our destination for the evening. Small, cozy tapas place with delicious food and great wine. We got a great bottle of pinot noir followed by a glas of a moscato, rosé champagne was a great ending of a perfect day.
